Chiloschista lunifera

The Chiloschista lunifera orchid, also known as the 'Moon Chiloschista', is a leafless orchid native to the Eastern Himalayas, India, Assam, Burma, Thailand, and Laos. It produces a dark red flower, unlike all other Chiloschista, and is highly fragrant. It is probably the most fragrant of any Chiloschista species. Its scent is very sweet, somewhat like baby powder! This orchid adapts well to terrarium cultivation, favoring intermediate to warm conditions with good humidity. For the best results, it is recommended to mist it daily. It grows on tree fern fiber plaques or cork. Its small size and tolerance for terrarium conditions make it an excellent candidate for this type of cultivation.
